Coach Diatte is in his 27th year at the helm of the Valley Christian baseball program. A 1984 graduate of Valley Christian High School, Coach Diatte was a 4-year letterman on the Varsity Baseball team and started on the first three Varsity Football teams. Under Coach Diatte’s watch the Warriors have 11 league titles and 6 Central Coast Section Championship. Over the past 16 years, the Warriors have played in Seven CCS Championships and have compiled a 35-10 playoff record. His teams have a reputation for playing hard-nosed mistake-free baseball. USA Today ranked the 2008 Warrior team 4th in the nation.
Coach Diatte is most proud of his integration of Biblical principles and life lesson into his program. He also enjoys speaking in chapels and sharing at coaching conferences.
FAMILY: Daughter Brittany, 20, and son Joey, 17. Father John Diatte Sr. rarely misses a Warrior game.

ROB FUNG
Rob Fung, recently retired after his 21st season as the Head Baseball Coach at George Washington High of San Francisco. He has guided his Eagles (407-253-3, a winning percentage of .613) to 20 out of 21 championship appearances since 1995, winning six (6) San Francisco Section City Championships and two (2) TransBay Championships. The 2011 Championship was the anchor to the first ever “Trifecta” as George Washington won championships in football and basketball in the same school year. No school in history has done this in San Francisco. The following season his team capture the school’s 10th Section Championship in school history.
Fung played NCAA Division II baseball at San Francisco State during the 1987-88 seasons and one year at Skyline College under Terry Christman. A native of San Francisco, Fung played the infield for George Washington High School, from which he graduated in 1986.
He began his coaching career in 1994 as an assistant to Legendary Coach Joe Gualco. He was inducted into the George Washington Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003 and San Francisco Prep Hall of Fame in 2004 as a player.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from San Francisco State University in 1992 and currently resides in the Peninsula with his wife Debbie and sons Christopher and Matthew. When not on the diamond he is a 21 year veteran of the San Francisco Police Department.
